T-80 tank TECHNICAL DETAILS.
The layout of the T-80 is similar to that of the T-64; the pilot’s compartment is on the front centerline, the two-man turret is in the center with the gunner on the left and the commander on the right, and the engine is mounted in the rear. Overall, its shape is also very similar to that of the T-64. The original design of the T-80 uses a 1,000-horsepower gas turbine instead of a 750-horsepower diesel engine, although some later variants of the T-80 returned to using the diesel engine.
