M9 TECHNICAL DETAILS
The 5.56×45 mm assault rifles belong to the firearms whose action is based on the principle of conveying a part of the gunpowder gases through a special port in the wall of the fixed barrel and their influence on the bolt carrier. The receiver is made from a hot-forged blank followed by milling operations.
