AKS-47 Kalashnikov TECHNICAL DETAILS
The AK-47, officially known as the Kalashnikov, is a 7.62 × 39 mm gas-operated assault rifle developed in the Soviet Union by Mikhail Kalashnikov around the time of the Second World War. It is the original firearm in the Kalashnikov (or “AK”) rifle family. The number 47 refers to the year in which it was completed.
